it’s all about the probiotics. the benefits for eli are numerous therefore, kefir is an important item in my kitchen. i use it for soaking grains and beans, baking, smoothies or as a drink with breakfast. i use yogourmet kefir starter because it’s a lot cheaper than body ecology. i can’t say if one is better than the other but i’ve had great results with yougourmet.

fill a glass with plain homemade kefir
honey, to taste
vanilla, to taste

mix and enjoy!

    So funny! I just spent 15 minutes looking at kefir in the grocery store, balking at the $5 price tag and wondering if I could make it at home, like we make yogurt. Even funnier, just yesterday I learned about the packaged starters, I’ve always just used a bit of the product itself.
